Woody Point ’19

Ally’s dad Jodee had been living in Woody Point for the last several summers working, and we had never made the trip across the island to visit. I had been to Woody Point several times before while visiting Gros Morne, but I had never stayed in the town and taken it all in.

It’s probably one of, if not the most, scenic place is Newfoundland. It’s an extremely popular destination for tourists in the summer time, so I’m not worried about blowing up the spot with this post (also, no one reads this blog so it’s fine). None of this is new or surprising. However, I felt like I saw Woody Point through new eyes on trip. It helped to have a local connection through Jodee’s friends that live there. The Galliott’s showed us an incredible time, taking us out in their boat, and drinking wine on the deck of Jenn’s pottery studio, watching whales swim by. I know that last bit sounds pretentious but it was honestly one of the best weeks in Newfoundland I’ve had in years. And it was SO relaxing. Sort of in love with this place now. We will be making visits a regular thing. Cheers.
